Kenyan LGBTQ activist Edwin Chiloba's funeral takes place: The funeral of Kenyan LGBTQ [gay] activist Edwin Chiloba, who was smothered to death in a killing that caused outrage, is taking place at his family village in Kenya. Chiloba's body was found earlier this month in a metal box dumped on the roadside near the western Kenyan town of Eldoret, where he was a student. Hundreds are paying their last respects ironically to him in Sergoit village on land he was supposed to inherit.

Former Republican candidate held over shootings targeting Democrats' homes in U.S:

A man who ran unsuccessfully as a Republican state politician in New Mexico is accused by police of masterminding a shooting spree targeting the homes of Democrats. Solomon Pena, 39, conspired with and paid four other men to shoot the properties of four local politicians, say Albuquerque police.
